X-Men Oragins: Wolverine 2009:T here, this is the next thing I had to do for my class. I dissected a movie using the Blake Snyder beat sheet.
THE BLAKE SNYDER BEAT SHEET
PROJECT TITLE: X-Men Origins: Wolverine
GENRE: Action
DATE: 10/5/09
1. Opening Image (1): James (Wolverine) and his half brother Victor (Sabertooth) are in a bed room. James is sick and needs to be taken care of.
2. Theme Stated (5): James and Victor fight in the Civil War, WWI, WWII and Vietnam War. There powers keeping them alive and at their peak.
3. Set-Up (1-10): James has to stop Victor from killing and giving into his blood lust.
4. Catalyst (12): James and Victor getting into to trouble after Victor kills a superior and they have to face a firing squad, only to live and be imprisoned by the army and serve in a special squad.
After serving for a while in the special squad, James decides to leave and quite killing when Stryker is terrorizing an African village for the location of a meteorite.
5. Debate (12-25): Six years later, James is going by his last name Logan. He has to choose whether or not to help Stryker as some one hunts down there old team and he says no. Though, when his wife, Kayla, is killed by Victor, he is all for killing Victor and goes to Stryker.
6. Break into Two (25): Stryker tells Logan to have a procedure done to add the adamantium to his skeleton and he agrees. When he hears Stryker say to wipe his memory, he gets mad and escapes after killing many people there.
7. B Story (30): Logan meets an old Couple who is willing to help him by giving him clothes, food, and a place to rest for a little while.
8. Fun and Games (30-55): This would be the chase scene, as Logan rides a motorcycle being chased by Jeeps, helicopters, and one of his old team mates.
9. Midpoint (55): Logan meets up with a member of his team who could teleport. Then Victor kills him.
10. Bad Guys Close In (55-75): After Wolverine broke into the lab, Victor showed up.
11. All Is Lost (75): Logan finds out that Kayla was just acting so that he would be willing to get the adamantium treatment.
12. Dark Night of the Soul (75-85): Logan hears Kayla scream and he freaks out. He makes his way, only for him to learn that she really does love him but Stryker had threatened her sister's life.
13. Break into Three (85): After hearing how Stryker forced Kayla to fake her death, Logan decides to free all the captured mutants.
14. Finale (85-110): Logan and Victor fight weapon 11 to the death.
15. Final Image (110): Logan is alone again, without his memory this time. Only, he doesn't need to be taken care of, he decides to find his own way off the island instead of leaving on Gambits plane.
