The Night of the Living Dead

1968 The Night of the Living Dead:
This is T and Kiki here to tell you about yet another great movie. It was the first zombie movie ever and when it came out, the term "zombie" was non-existent.

Kiki- I haven't seen this movie in 2 or 3 years, but I loved it when I did see it. Though, it wasn't what I was looking for at the time, so I was just a bit disappointed at first. After a few minutes in, I found that I liked it and it isn't bad for an old black and white zombie movie. This is the original zombies, you get to see what they started out as. You should try watching this movie and watching a new zombie film (such as Dawn of the Dead) and compare the two.

So this is T and this is my opinion, The Night of the Living Dead is an excellent movie by my standards. When I consider the fact that it was made in 1968, at the time, this movie was probably a real "gross out" movie because of the blood splatter in one scene. The zombies were mindlessly eating people in another scene. Though, for me it was mildly disturbing, there were parts I found amusing. Such as when the lead actress, Barbra played by Judith O'Dea, was just walking around with a glazed look in her eyes, throughout most of the movie, that could fool anyone into thinking she was a zombie herself. There was also an explosive scene involving a truck, gasoline, and a burning torch. I recommend you see this if you get the time, it gets a solid 5.5 on the awesome 'O' meter.

5. Debate (12-25): Barbra is in the house and Ben (Duane Jones) has shown up and boarded the house up already. Barbra has gone into a mental shock by this point and is not reacting to anything.

6. Break into Two (25): The house is surrounded by zombies and Ben starts to throw flaming furniture at them, scaring them off.

7. B Story (30): More people come out of the basement, which leads to a whole conflict between the basement people and Ben. This is because he won't go down to the basement or let them take anything down to the basement.

8. Fun and Games (30-55): Where all the zombie fighting happens. It is spread out and there are gaps.

9. Midpoint (55): They have had radio for a while and it had Ben telling them to stay inside, but a TV Brod cast says that shelters have been set up and they should try to get to the closest one.

12. Dark Night of the Soul (75-85): The zombies start breaking into the house and Harry Cooper (Karl Hardman) steals a gun from Ben. Ben then takes it back and shoots Harry. Harry stumbles down into the basement and dies. Harry's zombiefid daughter starts to eat him. Then Harry's wife goes down to check on him and gets killed by the daughter in a very gruesome way.

13. Break into Three (85): Ben is ran into the basement by zombies, which have broken into the house.

14. Finale (85-110): Down in the basement, Ben is forced to take down the little girl, only for Harry to come back as a zombie once he is dead for good. The wife starts coming back and she is also taken down. He is boarded up, down in the basement, and waits for help,

15. Final Image (110): Help has arrived for Ben. Most of the zombies have dispersed. As all is quite, Ben leaves the basement and creeps around in the living room. Outside, the help mistakes Ben for a zombie and kills him. Now they can't tell the living from the living dead.
